Electrical — Case History
When Cubitek, a manufacturer of PC chassis, launched their new ICE series in early 2012, they turned to aluminum extrusion to drive "next generation" performance. Among the benefits they realized:
- With a case formed by precision bending a single extrusion, Cubitek achieved greater strength with lighter weight
- Aluminum's light weight allowed thicker sections, yielding less vibration and quieter operation
- With better heat dissipation than steel, ICE's extruded aluminum construction, in combination with the interior layout and fan placement, helps components run cooler
- The brushed aluminum surface provides a "sleek, professional" aesthetic.
