Fabrication Possibilities

Aluminum extrusions are rarely used as they come from the press. Rather, extrusions typically undergo a number of fabrication and/or finishing processes to transform them into functional components for their intended applications. Extrusion fabrication generally starts with cutting from the as-extruded length, followed by punching, machining, bending, or welding and assembly. While such fabrication is often performed on a series of stand-alone equipment, dedicated cells with special-purpose machinery are frequently employed for high volume, repetitive parts.
